La Nostra Storia

Benvenuti alla famiglia. Mangia is more than a recipe collection — it's a journey through the culinary landscape of Italy, told by someone who carries the heritage of the old country and the perspective of the new world.

Traditional pasta making
Capitolo Uno

Dalla Calabria
all'America

Born in the sun-kissed hills of Calabria, Marcello Prattico immigrated to America at five years old — carrying the memories of his nonna's kitchen: fresh basil, boiling pasta water, and family gathered around the table.

Regular trips back to Italy became pilgrimages of taste, connecting him to family from the peaks of Milan to the shores of Sicily.

Capitolo Due

Venti cucine,
un paese

Italy isn't one cuisine — it's a mosaic of twenty regional kitchens, from the butter-laden dishes of Lombardy to the bold, spicy flavors of Calabria.

Every recipe on Mangia comes with its story: the history, the family memories, and the cultural significance behind the food.

Authentic Italian pizza

My favorite food in the world? Arancini — the ones sold on the ferry boats crossing the Strait of Messina. Golden, crispy spheres of rice, the Mediterranean breeze, and the promise of family reunions on the other shore.

— Marcello Prattico, Fondatore di Mangia
